Why You'll ❤️ These Air Fryer Carrots

"Carrots are so delicious when air fried. They are naturally sweet, but when you toss them with honey and balsamic glaze - you won't believe how good they taste - or that they're healthy!"

If you love balsamic glazed vegetables, be sure to make these Maple Balsamic Brussels Sprouts and these Beets With Rosemary and Balsamic Glaze - both can be made in the air fryer. Wanna know my favorite carrot recipe? It's this Zucchini Carrot Casserole with Cheese. Oh my. 😉

Sweet and Tangy

These air fryer carrots are coated with honey before roasting, adding extra sweetness to them. Then after cooking, they are tossed with balsamic glaze, which is savory and tangy. So much flavor!

Quick and Easy!

These roasted carrots are super easy to make because you just need to add a few ingredients to the carrots, and then all you have to do is air fry them until tender. Then you just have to enjoy them. Yes!!

Healthy

This recipe is vegetarian, low-carb, low-calorie, and low-fat! All natural sugars and no added artificial sugars are used in this recipe. Feel good about serving these delicious carrots to your loved ones.

Air Fryer Roasted Carrots Ingredients

Ingredients needed for making balsamic glazed air fryer carrots

Here are the ingredients you will need to make balsamic glazed carrots in air fryer:

  • Carrots - if using whole carrots, cut them into uniform pieces. You could also substitute with pre-cut or baby carrots if preferred.
  • Olive Oil - you can use any preferred oil in this recipe.
  • Honey
  • Kosher Salt
  • Ground Black Pepper
  • Balsamic Glaze - this is different than balsamic vinegar. You can find this in the grocery store, and it is a much thicker version of balsamic vinegar.
  • Butter - any brand of butter, and you can use unsalted or salted.
  • Fresh Chives

For exact ingredient quantities, please see the recipe card below!

Substitutions and Variations

Here are a few ways you can customize this recipe:

  • Save time by using store-bought baby-cut carrots instead of purchasing whole large carrots.
  • Use any variety of carrots you prefer - including multicolored carrots. They would be beautiful and great for a holiday gathering!
  • Substitute maple syrup for honey. You could also add some brown sugar for extra sweetness or a brown sugar substitute.
  • Add some heat by using hot honey in place of regular honey. You can also add any seasonings you like, such as cayenne, chili powder, or red pepper flakes.

Top Tips

  • Air fryer cooking temperatures and times may vary, so remember to adjust the recipe accordingly.
  • Adjust any seasoning to your liking.
  • Remember to keep an eye on your carrots as they cook in case the temperature needs to be adjusted or if they seem to be cooking more quickly, depending on their size.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd your carrots in the air-fryer, as they will cook much differently and steam more than crisp and caramelize.

FAQs

How do you reheat candied carrots?

Candied or glazed carrots are best reheated in a sauté pan with a little bit of butter, which helps the sugars from burning. You can also reheat in your air fryer on 350 degrees F for about 3 to 4 minutes until warmed through. Check frequently to make sure they don't burn.

Do you have to peel carrots?

Many people don't mind eating carrots unpeeled, but it’s suggested that you thoroughly wash your carrots before eating.

How to store

Place and cool uncovered in an air-tight container. Cover and store in your refrigerator for up to 3 days. I recommend cooking just enough for each meal. This ensures better quality with your glazed carrots.

How To Reheat Air Fryer Carrots

Air fryer: Reheat with fryer set on 350 degrees until warm, about 2 to 3 minutes. Sugar can burn easily, check them frequently.
Stovetop: Place your carrots into a sauté pan with a little butter and sauté until your carrots are heated through
