You'll ❤️ This Lamb Chops Air Fryer Recipe

"I've always loved lamb chops but I used to do them in my oven. Once I created this lamb chops air fryer recipe - I'll never go back to the oven. These are unbelievably simple and results in very tender juicy chops!"

Quick and Easy

Air fried lamb chops are quick and easy! Only 7 ingredients (including salt and pepper) straight out of your pantry, and less than 30 minutes start to finish. 15 minutes of that time is for marinating the lamb, 7 to 10 minutes is for air frying, and the remaining 5 or so minutes is for making the marinade.

This recipe calls for marinating the lamb chops up to 8 hours before air frying. I will often do this in the morning before I head off to work, so they are ready when I get home. If I forget, 15 minutes is fine - or I just skip the marinade altogether and just sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Flavorful

Lamb, in general, is quite flavorful, but marinading these chops in the Greek-inspired marinade gives them even more flavor and tenderizes the chops.

Cooking lamb chops in air fryer creates a delicious color and crust on the outside too. One of my favorite ways to cook them!

Healthy

Making lamb chops in the air fryer is a great way to cook them. Lamb chops are a very healthy choice of protein.

  • Did you know that lamb chops are high in healthy omega-3 fatty acids?
  • This recipe is paleo, low carb, and keto.
  • It is dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and sugar free.

How To Serve

There are several ways to serve these air fryer lamb chops. Here are some ideas:

Garnish with fresh herbs such as parsley or chives.

Serve over your favorite air fried or roasted vegetables. Also great over mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, or mashed cauliflower.

They are delicious with a chimichurri sauce such as mint, or even a pesto sauce.

Meal idea! Serve lamb chops with riced cauliflower and air fryer frozen green beans.

Lamb chops are an easy holiday main dish!

These also go well with the classic mint jelly, and also with fruit chutneys such as apple or even mango. Let me know if you find an awesome flavor combination I'd love to hear about it! 🙂

Side dishes that would go well with these lamb chops are Air Fryer Green Beans, Greek Salad, Cauliflower Cheese Casserole, Air Fried Asparagus, and Air Fryer Cabbage.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you will need to make air fryer lamb chops:

Ingredients needed to make air fried lamb chops.

See the recipe card for quantities.

  • Lamb Chops - I used lamb loin chops about 1 inch thick. Most chops seem to be about 1 to 1½ inches thick.
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Red Wine Vinegar - you could also use a rice vingar, white wine vinegar, or even apple cider vinegar.
  • Rosemary - use fresh or dried.
  • Thyme - use fresh or dried.
  • Garlic - I like to use fresh but in a pinch you could use garlic powder. I would use about 1/2 teaspoon and taste test the marinade.
  • Kosher Salt - kosher salt is granular and not as salty as table salt. If you use table salt use about 1/2 to 1/3 less. Taste test and add more if needed.
  • Ground Black Pepper

Note: I like to cook lambs chops until they are just a few degrees less than my desired temperature, as the temperature will continue to rise when they are resting.

When done, remove the chops to a plate. Cover and let rest for 5 minutes.

Top Tips

  • Do not overcook lamb - use an instant read meat thermometer to test the doneness. Pull your chops a few degrees (3 to 5 degrees) before they reach your desired temperature. As they rest the temperature will increase.
  • Know you air fryer. Each air fryer seems to cook a little different. Adjust your temperature and time accordingly. The first time cooking lamb chops, be sure to test for doneness frequently.
  • If you are marinating longer than 30 minutes place in the refrigerator.
  • Remove the chops from your refrigerator anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes before air frying. Cold lamb chops will take longer to cook.
  • Marinate the lamb chops anywhere from 15 minutes up to 8 hours in advance. The longer you marinate the better the flavor and tenderization.

Yes you can! Air Fryer on 360 to 365 15 to 20 minutes (for a 1 lb rack of lamb) or until it reaches your desired doneness. Use the same marinade as the lamb chops and temperature guide. Enjoy!
