    You'll ❤️ Vodka Strawberry Martini

"A strawberry martini is the cocktail think of when I want something light and fruity for Spring or Summer! It has the perfect balance of sweet and tart - like a perfectly ripe strawberry!" -Kori

    Plump and Juicy

Our goal: make this strawberry martini taste like plump and juicy, perfectly ripe strawberries. Success! After several taste-testings we got it. This was no hardship, I tell you. Thank you to my friend Debbie who helped me in my research. 😉

This cocktail is a delicate balance between sweet and tart. The lemon and vanilla and fresh strawberry puree set this cocktail off just right!

    Skinny

We tried to keep this skinny martini recipe as healthy as possible with no sugar added - while still tasting good! Many cocktails use a sweetened liqueur, we use fruit puree and a sugar-free simple syrup made with a sugar substitute.

    🍸 How To Serve It

Here are some ways to "mix up" your vodka strawberry martini to make it even more festive and fun:

    • This can be made ahead of time so it's perfect for parties, showers, brunches, holidays, and cookouts. (See the FAQs section below)
    • Serve in a chilled (or frozen) martini glass if desired - or straight over ice in a large glass with a straw (great if serving a crowd).
    • Skewer a fresh strawberry or float one in the bottom as a garnish.
    • Dip the rim of your martini glass in water then a vanilla-flavored sugar
    • Make it sparkle with a chilled shot of sparkling wine, champagne, or Prosecco.
    • Serve in a cocktail glass over ice then top off with sparkling water, soda, or even ginger beer.

Guess what? 🙂 I have more delicious martini recipes - and they come in all flavors - Pineapple Martini, Peach Martini, and Passion Fruit Martini. Make sure to check them out!

    🍓 What You'll Need

Here are the ingredients and tools you will need to make this strawberry martini recipe:

Ingredients needed to make strawberry martini.

See the recipe card for exact quantities.

    Ingredients

The strawberry martini ingredients are as follows:

Strawberry Vodka - this is the unsweetened strawberry vodka, make sure you don't buy a liqueur or the new vodka "juices" I'm seeing on the shelves now.

Vanilla Vodka - you can also try using plain vodka.

Strawberry Puree - see recipe in the FAQs section below. This recipe was made using fresh berries and is easy to make. The alternative is unsweetened strawberry juice. I spent more time looking for the juice than I did making it - and it was expensive. I highly suggest you make your own!

Sugar-Free Vanilla Simple Syrup - you can easily make your own, the recipe is below in the Questions section. You could also try bottled vanilla syrup like Torani or another brand. To make the skinny version of this cocktail, be sure to use a sugar substitute with a 1:1 sugar ratio.

    Fresh Lemon

Fresh Strawberries - fresh is best! I tested this with frozen strawberries and the frozen ones just didn't have the same flavor.

    • Small Cutting Board

    📖 Variations

Here are a few ways you can vary or make substitutions to your strawberry martini:

    • Strawberries can vary in ripeness so adjust the sweetener up or down to your liking.
    • Use regular sugar if you prefer.
    • Make it a strawberry basil martini by adding a few basil leaves into your shaker or even in your blender when you make the strawberry juice puree.
    • See notes in the FAQs section on how to convert this recipe for crowds.
    • Try lime in place of the lemon
    • Substitute a pre-mixed mixed fruit juice.
    • I prefer a little extra vanilla in my cocktail but you can omit the vanilla syrup and use regular if desired. You can also skip the syrup altogether and use a packet of sugar substitute and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract. You can use a real sugar packet but the granules will not dissolve.
    • For other flavored martinis you could substitute any flavored liqueur and pair it with a similar juice or fruit - like pear, apple, etc.

    💭 Top Tips

    • Use the freshest fruit possible.
    • Adjust any flavors or any of the alcohol quantity to your liking.

    ❓ FAQs

How do I make vanilla simple syrup?

    Here's how to make it:

    1. Add 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar substitute (with a 1:1 sugar ratio), and 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup to a small saucepan.
    2. Heat over low heat stirring frequently until sugar is dissolved.
    3. Remove from heat and let cool.
    4. Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
    5. NOTE: Some sugar substitutes don't need heat to dissolve. Test yours in water before heating.

How do I make strawberry puree?

In a blender, add 10 ounces of frozen strawberries and 2 ounces of water (4 tablespoons). Blend in a blender to puree and combine. Using a sieve over a medium mixing bowl, strain the liquids from the solids.

This makes approximately 9 ounces of fresh strawberry puree. You can halve this if you want, but whatever you don't use can be frozen for later. If you can freeze in 1.5-ounce portions (I used an ice cube tray with slightly larger than normal ice cube cavities.)

    Can I use frozen strawberries?

You can use frozen strawberries in a pinch - but I don't recommend it. For best flavor use fresh strawberries. I tested this recipe with frozen strawberries and they just don't have the same flavor as fresh and were very watered down once thawed.

Can I make this ahead of time?

Yes, you can make a large batch of strawberry martinis up to 2 days beforehand.

Can I serve this to a crowd?

Yes, you can make this recipe for a party. Each serving is about 5.5 ounces, not including the strawberry for garnish. You'll want to make sure your glasses hold enough. Include one strawberry as a garnish per serving.

It is easiest to make large quantities to serve over ice rather than keep the martini cold or shake each martini one by one. 🙂

Tip: 24 servings is approximately one 750 mL bottle of vodka and two 750mL bottles of strawberry vodka.
