Need Ideas For a Fast and Easy Keto Lunch?
Lunch is an easy time for me to fall off the “healthy eating wagon.” If I am not prepared then I have to get takeout and when I have to eat out, it’s easy to ignore your diet rules when you’re faced with a lot of tempting lunch options.
To help you stay on track I have filtered through recipe after recipe online to find fast lunch ideas that taste good and that I can make quickly or, ahead of time. Below are a few of my favorite go-to fast and easy keto lunch ideas.
Quick Keto Lunch Ideas
For me (full-time working mother and wife), a good recipe is – easy to prepare, quick to make, and/or can be made ahead. Make ahead options are a must.
I don’t have time to prepare complicated lunches every day either. Any eating plan that requires me to spend a lot of time cooking is not for me! I usually spend about an hour on Sundays meal prepping for a few lunches during the week. This makes things go so much smoother during the week!

Keto Lunch Ideas For Work
For those of you who work then you know, it’s a challenge to find easy keto lunch ideas for work. They key is that the lunch has to be packable and depending upon where you work you might have to consider storage, or whether you have a microwave to heat your lunch in.
Because I work outside my home full time, all of these recipes are easy to pack.
My favorite products for an easy keto packed lunch:
- Want to pack soup (or another hot item) but don’t have access to a microwave, get this Thermos food jar – it will keep food and liquids hot for up to 14 hours.
- I love this flexible snack, lunch, salad combo kit from Rubbermaid! It is perfect for packing any of the meals below and is dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe. Love it.
- Here is the perfect way to meal prep your lunches – a three compartment, leak proof, glass storage container that comes in a pack of 3. The perfect bento box that also stackable, dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe. And they come with a fork and a knife.

Ketogenic Lunch Ideas – 5 days of lunches
Here are 5 ketogenic lunch ideas you will love. Links for all recipes are further below in the post, but this will get you started if you are menu planning. Several recipes are make-ahead and are perfect for a weeknight dinner and you can simply pack the leftovers. Enjoy!
- Day One
- Hawaiian Chicken Salad served over half an avocado. Make the salad ahead of time – it keeps for several days and tastes better and better each day.
- Day Two
- Keto Chicken Soup (made with chicken thighs) and a side salad with your favorite keto-approved dressing. Make soup ahead of time and reheat at work – or get the Thermos I recommended above (it will keep warm for a very long time!)
- Day Three
- Leftover Keto Eggs Benedict Frittata. This is SO GOOD and reheats really well. Make this for dinner and pack the leftovers! Unlike traditional hollandaise sauce, the mock hollandaise sauce is no fuss easily transported.
- Day Four
- Leftover Zucchini Taco Boats. Easy to make for dinner and even easier to pack for lunch. This is one of my most popular recipes on the blog. Make sure to make the homemade taco seasoning – you will love it!
- Day Five
- Throw together some cheese cubes/slices, olives, nuts, salami, and raw veggies for your own lunchtime Charcuterie “Platter”. This is a fast lunch idea!

Keto Quick Lunch Salads
Hawaiian Chicken Salad
An easy make-ahead dish! Since this tastes best after sitting overnight this is the perfect meal prep recipe. I made this salad for a light dinner one evening, then had enough for the next 4 days of lunches. It’s so addicting! This is actually one of my favorite things to pack for lunch. While this layered salad is the perfect dish to take to a gathering I actually make it as a side for dinner all the time. Because it makes so much I have tasty leftovers! As long as you don’t mix in the dressing this will keep for several days. I pack several portions of it in airtight containers and take them for lunch! It’s delicious with its bacon and cheese and the mayonnaise-based dressing. Pick Your Protein Salad with Creamy Ranch Dressing
For this recipe, you’ve got loads of options! Pick your favorite protein and veggies, and make this fabulous ranch dressing and you are set for an awesome lunch.
You can use egg (see pic below), chicken, steak, shrimp, fish, or ham. Pack up your favorite salad veggies, chicken, and dressing into separate sections or containers.
You can grill your own chicken in advance, or you can buy pre-grilled chicken breasts from the store to save some time. I typically try and keep pre-grilled meats in the freezer (either homemade or store-bought) so I can quickly grab that important protein in a hurry!
You will love this homemade keto-approved and dairy-free creamy ranch dressing. (See Healthful Pursuits, recipe here) Tip: when making the recipe I used fresh diced onion instead of dried onion, but either one will taste good.

These zucchini taco boats are literally perfect for meal prepping. They have minimal ingredients and are really easy to make. You can bake them all ahead of time then reheat for your lunch. One Pan Roasted Shrimp and Zucchini and Tomatoes
We currently have an overabundance of zucchini and tomatoes from our garden. In fact, I’m thinking of making a post solely dedicated to zucchini recipes, LOL!
