The backstory.

Every year, I make peppermint bark as soon as the holiday season starts - it's one of those traditions that instantly feels cozy and nostalgic. I wanted a healthy peppermint bark recipe that still had that same melt-in-your-mouth texture and minty sweetness, but without the sugar crash. This version is made with clean ingredients like cocoa butter, monk fruit, and sugar free white chocolate, and honestly - it's even better than the classic.

It's a must-make.

This low carb peppermint bark recipe is a holiday essential-decadent, minty, and guilt-free. Each bite delivers that satisfying snap of chocolate peppermint keto goodness, without sugar alcohol overload.

  • Naturally sweetened. No refined sugars - just sugar free chocolate and a touch of monk fruit extract.
  • Keto friendly. Made without added sugar or carbs, perfect for a low carb keto treat.
  • Smooth & creamy. Layers of dark and white chocolate melt perfectly together.
  • Perfect for gifting. Break into individually wrapped pieces for the prettiest holiday treat.

This peppermint bark is the one sugar free treat I have to hide from myself-or it's gone.

Let's talk texture and flavor.

You take a bite, and the dark chocolate gives that classic glossy snap before melting into a rich, smooth layer of peppermint flavor. The creamy white chocolate on top adds sweetness and contrast, while the crushed free peppermint candies bring the perfect holiday crunch. It's cool, minty, and decadent - all in one bite.

Healthy peppermint bark recipe ingredients.

Ingredients needed to make sugar free peppermint bark on a white marble countertop.

Here's what you're going to need to make this sugar free peppermint bark recipe:

  • Sugar-free dark chocolate: Use a high-quality bar like Lily's or any brand made with monk fruit or soluble corn fiber for a smooth melt and clean flavor.
  • Cocoa butter: A small amount helps the chocolate set with that shiny, snappy finish - true to traditional chocolate bark.
  • Peppermint extract: Use natural peppermint flavor for a pure, refreshing taste.
  • Sugar-free white chocolate chips: Sweet and creamy with no added sugar - these form the top layer of the bark.
  • Sugar Free peppermint candies: Crush a few sugar free peppermint candies or use peppermint bark syrup drizzle for a festive finish.

If you love this sugar free peppermint bark recipe, be sure to try a few more of my favorite holiday treats - they're all gluten free, low carb, keto-friendly, and made with sugar free ingredients. Whip up a batch of Raspberry Coconut Bars for a fruity twist, indulge in Chocolate Peanut Clusters for a quick chocolate fix, or make Raspberry White Chocolate Bark to add a touch of elegance to your Christmas dessert spread. Each one is festive, easy to make, and perfect for gifting or sharing during the holidays.

Customize it your way.

This low carb and keto peppermint bark is so simple to make your own!

  • Add a drizzle of melted sugar free dark chocolate over the top for a marbled look.
  • Sprinkle chopped nuts (almonds or pecans) for added crunch and healthy fats.
  • Swap peppermint extract for orange or almond extract to change up the flavor.
  • Add a few drops of peppermint bark syrup or a touch of sea salt for a gourmet twist.

Flexible dietary swaps.

You can easily adapt this sugar free peppermint bark recipe to fit your dietary needs.

  • Dairy-Free: Choose dairy-free sugar free chocolate bars or chips made with coconut milk or cacao butter.
  • Nut-Free: No nuts needed in this one! Just make sure your chocolate is processed in a nut-free facility if needed.
  • Vegan: Use vegan sugar free chocolate and monk fruit extract as your sweetener.
  • Low-Sugar Alternative: Swap monk fruit for allulose or a monk fruit-erythritol blend for a slightly softer texture.

How to enjoy it.

There are so many ways to enjoy this sugar free peppermint bark recipe:

  • Fresh from the fridge when you need a cool, chocolate peppermint pick-me-up.
  • Wrapped up in clear bags or boxes for an easy low carb sugar free holiday gift - everyone loves homemade treats.
  • Layered into your Christmas cookie rotation for a pop of minty freshness among all the classics.
  • Tucked alongside a cup of hot cocoa or coffee for a cozy winter dessert moment.

Kori's tips.

  • Melt gently. Use low heat and stir frequently so your chocolate doesn't seize.
  • Chill completely. Each layer should be firm before adding the next for clean lines.
  • Keep it cool. Because it's made without stabilizers or sugar alcohols, store in the fridge or freezer.
  • Break with care. Let the bark sit at room temp for a few minutes before cutting for smooth edges.

FAQ's

What's the best way to store it?

Keep your chocolate peppermint keto bark refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for longer storage.

Can I make it ahead?

Absolutely! It keeps beautifully in the fridge and even better in the freezer-perfect for early holiday prep.

Can I use regular chocolate?

You can, but it won't be sugar free or low carb. For a true sugar free, low carb, and keto friendly version, stick with sugar free chocolate sweetened with monk fruit or soluble corn fiber.
