The backstory.
I still remember the first time I had herb butter melting over a perfectly cooked steak at a steakhouse. It seemed fancy, but once I realized it was basically butter mixed with herbs and a few simple ingredients, I couldn't believe I hadn't been making it at home all along. Now it's one of my favorite little tricks for turning an ordinary weeknight steak into something that feels a bit more special.
