VARIATIONS: Add hot sauce, chili pepper flakes, or additional jalapeno to make it spicier; make this dip as chunky or smooth as you like. Adjust the seasoning according to your tastes.
TOP TIPS: Use gloves to keep the jalapeno oils from burning your skin. Some jalapenos are very mild, and some are spicy. Start with a quarter or half of a jalapeno and add to taste. There can also be a large variance in the flavor of onions and limes, depending on their freshness. Always start with less and adjust as you go.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Use as a condiment for any favorite Mexican dish, or serve with tortilla chips and raw vegetables for a dip.
